Job Summary: Scrum Leads in Customer Care Team are the employees who support application development and infrastructure products in Customer Care. Employees assigned to these roles enable the agile teams to deliver maximum business value by aligning teams focused on modernizing and delivering technology products. Employees in this function will: - Train, Mentor and Coach team members, proactively eliminate barriers, protect team from external interferences and facilitate team meetings to ensure delivery on the sprint goals. - -Work closely with the team members, Product Owners, other Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineer and stakeholders to support Sprint and Release Planning, foster team self-awareness, encourage cross-training, decision-making and continuous improvement. Help teams become high-performing teams. Responsibilities: - Lead up to 2 onshore and/or off-shore scrum teams in moderate to high complexity work streams. - Help the team(s) embrace Agile values, adopt and apply Agile principles, and implement Agile practices. Facilitate transparency and a continuous learning mindset. - Collaborate with the Product Owner to support short and long-term release planning, while maintaining a healthy team backlog ready for execution. - Actively manage interdependencies between dependent teams. Anticipate and address or escalate potential or actual impediments to team delivery. - Lead the tracking and reporting on agile team metrics (CFD, Burndown/up, velocity), escalating issues as needed. Ability to report in Waterfall or Agile. - Recognized as a coach and able to follow a coaching model for helping the team resolve issues. Coach teams through the exploration and adoption of agile engineering practice (e.g., test automation, CI/CD, BDD, Agile Architecture). Requirements: - BA/BS (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field. - Extensive experience in agile practice. Scrum Certification, SAFe Framework Certification (or equivalent) - 7+ years of extensive experience and knowledge in the life insurance product/business/industry Product. - 7+ years of extensive experience in collaboration, communication/presentation, agile practices, DevSecOps, CI/CD. - 7+ years of extensive experience in servant leadership, facilitation, organization/coordination and conflict resolution. - General understanding of Software Development Life Cycle - General understanding of Web/JAVA architecture system development methodology - Ability to understand documents written in English/Japanese (business requirements, system design materials, etc.) - Ability to communicate by email and/or orally in English/Japanese - Ability to build strong partnership with business customers, peer group and vendor members. Preferable: - Japanese/English bilingual - Experiences in global system development Project - Transformation project experience - General understanding of Open system Infra structure like, VM technology, IP network/switch/load balancer, Windows OS, Linux OS, Oracle DB, Mongo DB, Tomcat, Informatica Power Center, IBM Integration Bus (ESB). - Consultative, partnering, facilitating, and influencing skills with many audiences and cultures - Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, decision making, problem solving and negotiation skills - Program and project management skills - Ability to organize and influence diverse work groups to accomplish business goals Language: English : Intermediate or above Japanese : Basic
