>>>Winter 2024/2025 Seasonal Position NBS SNOWSPORTS KIDS SUPERVISOR The NBS Snowsports Kids Supervisor is responsible for supervising lessons and aiding the daily operations of the kids club within the Snowsports school. This includes ensuring that lessons are appropriately scheduled, organized, supervised and supported along with the necessary administrative tasks involved. This role is all encompassing and works closely with the NBS Front Desk team, Snowsports School Director, and Guest Services Manager offering support in all areas. The Snowsports Supervisor hours will generally be from 08:00am – 16:30pm. POSITION DESCRIPTION Lesson supervision l Overseeing NBS kids clubl Overseeing and assisting all lessons l Overseeing kids lunchesl On-hill lesson supportl Scheduling instructors l Observing quality of lessons and instructor performance l Continued development of instructor training program l Instructing lessons when required l Meeting area maintenance, including shoveling snow, fence/flag setup etc. Complaint resolution l Dealing directly with guests to solve issues in a fair, professional and timely manner l Resolving issues that arise between staff within the Snowsports School and interdepartmental disputes l Reporting all guest and staff complaints to the Snowsports School Director Front desk support l Must be competent in all computer systems, sales and front desk procedures, ability to process bookings, lessons and rental sales Other duties l Know, follow and enforce all SJ/NBS policies as outlined in the company handbook. Assist the Snowsports School Director to identify areas of weakness within policies/procedures, staff performance, and overall operations l Understand all NBS products, pricing and terms & conditions l Review and improve training guides and standard operating procedures for instructors to follow during lessons l Report all insubordinate behaviour to the Snowsports School Director and assist with appropriate disciplining of Snowsports School Staff l Lead by example to encourage a positive, fun and team orientated culture between all departments of SJ/NBS l Support other SJ/NBS activities and departments such as Rental/Retail, Niseko.com magazine and Guest Services. Assist with media, marketing and promotions of SJ/NBS services through mediums such as web, print, digital and social media l Follow and work by the SJ/NBS Company Values at all times in an authentic and genuine manner l Take direction and carry out any reasonable task requested by SJ/NBS management l Show initiative and identify areas/operations that need support without being asked by a Manager DATES & WORKING HOURS Dates: November 2024 – April 2025On average the Snowsports Supervisor will work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. During peak periods that will change to 6 days per week. The position does however require flexibility as it may require some work outside of these normal hours. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED l Fully certified Snowsports instructor l Experience supervising snowsports school operations l Experience supervising staff in a snowsports school setting l Experience teaching kids of all age groupsl Snowboard and/or other crossover certifications (preferred) PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED l Energetic, confident, can-do attitude l Exceptional customer service skills l Genuine passion for teaching and training l Team player that can put others first l Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft office) l Strong leadership skills l Ability to work unsupervised l Ability to represent NBS/SJ in a positive and professional manner l Ability to show patience and tact l Clear verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills l Mature, flexible approach with the ability to adapt to any situation l Punctual, reliable & well presented l Can use initiative and quick thinking to manage stressful situationsl Willingness and enthusiasm to perform duties beyond the usual tasksl Reading, writing, and verbal fluency in English OTHER REQUIREMENTS l Must be eligible for a working holiday visa or a sponsored visa l Must have or be able to obtain an international driving permit REMUNERATION l Monthly salary dependent on qualifications and experience l Personal All Mountain Lift Pass (Grand Hirafu, Hanazono, Niseko Village & Annupuri Resorts)
