Job title: Music Director Location: Camp Courtney , Okinawa, Japan. Travel: N/A Duties: The applicant shall direct, plan, and lead a choir to deliver songs, as well as choir rehearsals. The applicant shall recruit and train a Praise Team (also called a “Worship Team” or “Choir”) consisting of a minimum of four volunteers. Prepare the choir to provide a weekly Choir Special as part of the weekly regular worship service and additional selections for special services as scheduled. The applicant shall assist the substitute service Chaplain in the selection of music for all services when the chaplain is absent. Qualification/ Education: Knowledge and ability to lead a choir in singing a variety of worship music styles including traditional and contemporary songs. Experience leading worship in a church or chapel setting. Sing with proficiency or alternatively plays piano, Organ, or comparable instrument used in the leading of Contemporary worship services, and ability to read music and play by ear.
