I. General Purpose As a Manager Data & Analytics, you will have to effectively cross-collaborate with multiple stakeholders and you are responsible for delivering cutting-edge analytics services all key business functions and enable them to make fact-based decisions. To be successful in this role you will have to acquire great understanding of the Japan business needs, processes, ways of working and how to incorporate them into the Global technology available, to deliver best in class analytics, data solutions and process design. In this role you will have the chance to further develop and apply your technical and advanced analytical skills on top of the newest technologies. II. Key Responsibilities 1. Data & Analytics Contribute to continuous development of analytical, data and platform solutions which are aligned to global frameworks and with a focus on the Japan data needs, analytics platform migration and harmonization towards global standards. Own and manage demand for insights and analytics. Conduct collection, tracking, mining and analysis of data and the generation of fact-based insights using multiple data sources. Apply new tech / advanced analytics and data science approaches to solve key business challenges and drive business value for all functions building new data products. Provide analytical and technical services to stakeholders within the Japan region. Execute assigned projects in areas such as analytics implementation, database integration, data management, data quality, data harmonization, etc. Support the implementation of strategies for data accessibility, management, quality, and the overall availability of data. Present and promote analysis results and insights to colleagues at all levels, including senior stakeholders, in a way that allows them to understand the value of your work, apply your output, and realize business potential. You see opportunities and provide solutions for data process enhancements and automation. 2. Consulting Takes responsibility for understanding business functions requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution. Identifies, evaluates, and recommends options, implementing if required. Collaborates and facilitates with stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. Identify business gaps and come with solutions towards a more efficient way of working 3. Reporting Co-initiate and help implement new reporting structures or refine existing structures within your area of responsibility in alignment with Market and Global Analytics Frameworks and Data Governance. Help distill best practice guidance from other markets and other adidas stakeholders to maximize the use of analytics capabilities within Japan. Take ownership of business intelligence by providing self-service reporting solutions to other teams as well as creating awareness of the state of the business by highlighting key focus areas to senior management. Investigates operational needs and problems, and opportunities, contributing to the recommendation of improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes. Drive acceptance tests in order to assure that market requirements and sync with business needs. 4. Innovation Build a strong internal and external network and contribute to the growth and development of the Japan Analytics community. Deliver a state-of-the-art analytical services that will result in a data savvy and driven organization. Drive building and implementing advanced analytics and data science within data products and use-cases following business needs. III. Key Relationships: Data & Analytics Organization (DNA) both Global and Market Japan business functions (SCM, Finance, Brand Marketing, eCom, Wholesale, Retail, adidas Golf, Business Development) Local and Global Tech Functions or Analytics Functions External vendors (if any) IV. Requirements 1. Education & Professional Experience University Degree with focus in Economics, Math, Data Science, Information Technology or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience 5-8 years of experience in data management and analytics Proficient spoken and written command of English is a must Basic or Intermediate spoken and written command of Japanese Experience in working in a diverse and global team preferable 2. Soft-Skills Broad understanding and passion for Data, Analytics, Data Science Creative and energetic team player who has a passion for delivering analytics, data, insights to drive outcomes for quantifiable improvements in business results and consumer satisfaction. Strong communication skills, comfortable presenting complex topics to stakeholders at various organizational levels both in person and remotely. Ability to efficiently work in a cross-functional organization, ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships with stakeholders from analytics and non-analytics disciplines on all levels A passion for designing and creating new data capabilities, tools, and frameworks. Interest in “back-of-house” development of analytics capabilities. Devotion to accuracy, reliability, rigor, and user-focused design. Meticulous, high attention to details Outspoken and Confident People management skills are a plus 3. Hard-Skills Experience with BI tool management (PowerBI, Microstrategy, Tableau ..) Experience with analytics, statistics tools and disciplines (SQL, Python, database management ..). Project management skills, including the ability to lead projects or work on several projects simultaneously Proficient in MS Office Experience with process design and process improvements, automation, etc. Big plus would be considered the experience in working with data science and engineering teams Fluent English both verbally and written Verbally basic to intermediate in Japanese
