Job Summary: The Science Diet Brand Manager is responsible for the development and execution of brand plans, programs, and go-to-market activities to achieve the brand’s short and long term business objectives. Responsible for leading the brand team in developing strategic priorities, IMC briefs, assessing critical issues, and recommending strategic and tactical solutions. Monitor and analyze sales volumes, market trends, digital and promotional initiatives, and competitive activity. Ensure consistent and effective brand messaging to the consumer and consistent consideration of retail environment specific needs/tactics. What you will do: Brand Strategy(30%) Develop, align and execute Brand Marketing plans Set KPIs to track performance and make recommendations to optimize when necessary Collaborate with CDO/Retail Marketing in tracking these metrics Go-to-Market & Integrated Marketing Communications (25%) Lead Brand team in new product launches, re-launches and updates Lead Marketing creative briefs for brand activation Lead development of customer long lead decks Retail & Sales Activation (15%) Develop sales materials for new & existing products. Design and produce promotions and promotional materials to hand over to CDO for final field execution Attend regular sales meetings, inform them of key information and train on commercial components of new products Develop and lead brand presence at key Pet Shows Insights & Analytics (10%) Develop strong business and functional understanding of the pet category, our products and the competitive set. Develop plans to address issues and opportunities Utilize key consumer & shopper insights of the category & market Understand the Pet Shop & eCommerce retail environment, sales reps and field team needs to deliver strong promotional and marketing programs Customer Engagement (10%) Attend Joint Business Planning (JBP) meetings with key customers; review current products, upcoming promotions, etc Commercial Planning and Monitoring (10%) Support annual Budget Planning process Active participation in the monthly CBP (Commercial Business Planning) process including ongoing monitoring and analysis on brand sales, volume, market share, promotional activities and competitive insights Recommend areas for brand improvement Required Qualifications: Bachelor degree required At least 5 years of brand management and/or customer marketing in consumer goods industry Native level Japanese and Business level English proficiencies. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and clearly identify the tasks and resources required to move projects ahead Teamwork & collaboration – Works effectively with people in other departments, functions and regions Effective execution – Achieves results with speed and excellence Ability/potential to understand financial as well as business implications of programs and initiatives Strengths in analytical skills to draw insightful conclusions from available data. Strengths in leveraging key insights into action Outstanding project management and planning skills Knowledge, Adequate digital literacy, including a thorough understanding of Internet and software programs such as e-mail, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. enthusiasm and assertiveness Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Marketing, or Business Administration will be an advantage.
