Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization: Provide accounting & tax service and solutions correctly and timely for adidas Japan Ensure accurate booking of cash relevant accounts. Conduct financial closing & reporting in accordance with IFRS / Local GAAP / Statutory / Group Finance Manual / Local regulation and cooperate in financial audit / tax audit / internal audit Key Responsibilities: Accounting Manage accurate and timely booking in SAP accounting module (mainly account payable, fixed asset, and payroll) Operate and oversee month end & year end closing in accordance with IFRS / Local GAAP / Statutory / Group Finance Manual Provide internal customers with technical accounting advice Support Internal internal & external audit Treasury Check and approve daily cash-flow statement and proceed daily cash transaction Ensure monthly reconciliation of accounting module and bank GL accounts Maintain and monitor payment terms & schedules Maintain and monitor Global BAM(Bank Account Management) system and communicate with Group Treasury Update and check liquidity planner communicating with Financial Planning and Analysis Team and Credit Team Join/support AR forecast preparation/analysis Support HQ Treasury reports and F/X transactions Tax Prepare and submit timely tax returns, tax computations and tax estimates Manage response to tax audit / investigation by tax authorities in accordance with local tax regulation as a first point of contact for other departments Assess the impact of tax legislation changes and improve internal process and provide tax advice to the stakeholders Prepare group tax reports quarterly and communicate with Group Tax Manage transfer pricing related matters and work with the Global Transfer Pricing team to prepare the documentation Compliance Comply with IFRS / Local GAAP / Group Finance Manual / Statutory Establish and enforce accounting methods, policies and principles as appropriate Responsible for maintaining Internal Control System (ICS) on accounting and treasury control items Support internal & external audit Identify issues, improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions Operation Exececute daily operations following established procedures & processes based on existing standard/policy/strategy as necessary Monitor daily operation of the team, analyze issues and provide solutions Travel & Entertainment Exececute daily operations according to procedures & processes with minimum guidance from direction from supervisors Update T&E policies, if necessary Team Management If applicable, set clear target and role and responsibility for team members, and be accountable for performance reviews and responsible for development of personnel Key Relationships: Internally Finance Director Financial Shared Services Finance Senior Managers Group Accounting, Tax, Treasury Intercompany Finance Group Auditors Internal stakeholder IT Externally External Auditors Tax Authorities Tax Advisors Banks Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Passion for sport Team player Pro-active, collaborative and positive attitude even in changing environments Ability to think strategically but also focus on detail and understand how it fits into the bigger picture Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with multi-functional stakeholders Strong customer service skills with good strategic thinking in terms of managing customer relationships Advanced analytical skill Ability to identify and solve problems Ability to manage and align direct reports Strong understanding of internal sales and delivery processes Solid expert knowledge in accounting (IFRS and local GAAP / Statutory / accounting relevant processes / tax accounting) Advanced skill in MS Office and ERP system (SAP) Fluent in Japanese and English (spoken & written) Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: University graduate Nissho Boki 3 kyu (Official Business Skill Test in Book-keeping 3rd grade) Minimum 7 years Accounting experience Minimum 8 years work experience TOEIC L&R 700 (GTEC Business 600) or equivalent Preferable experience in the sport or apparel industries/ DTC eCom/RTL industry Preferable experience successfully leading and managing a team
