(Abiomed) Product Manager, Marketing

Location:
Tokyo Nihonbashi
Description:

ABIOMED is recruiting for a Product Manager , located in its Tokyo Nihonbashi Office . Abiomed, part of Johnson & Johnson MedTech, is the maker of Impella, a percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device (pVAD) that helps in recovering hearts and saving lives. It received regulatory approval in September 2016 and was commercially launched in Japan in October of 2017. Treatment with Impella is now available with more than 240 hospitals in Japan, with more than 10,000 cases in total. Impella is currently indicated for the treatment of drug-resistant acute heart failure, but we are aiming to expand the indication to patients with severe coronary artery disease who are at high risk for surgical intervention (high-risk revascularization), which is already indicated in the United States and Europe, as well as to reduce myocardial damage caused by acute myocardial infarction and reduce the risk of future heart failure. We are also aiming to obtain an indication for the use of Impella to reduce the risk of future heart failure by reducing myocardial damage caused by acute myocardial infarction. (A large-scale, multi-center, prospective, randomized, controlled trial is ongoing in the U.S. and Europe). In addition, we plan to introduce products with a smaller diameter and less invasive pump catheter (Impella ECP), a longer-lasting pump catheter (Impella BTR), and a pump catheter for right heart assist (Impella RP Flex). Because it is still a relatively new product and a new treatment concept, there are cases where Impella is not used even though it is indicated, and further awareness and promotion of Impella therapy is needed. With this in mind, we are looking for a Product Manager who will be responsible for executing the product introduction plan and development of a marketing strategy for Impella.
