Purpose of this role: • This role will strengthen and expand capabilities in the current external communications to increase the reputation of Janssen as a pharmaceutical company of Johnson & Johnson - through leadership platforms, executive communications, issue management, and cross-sector (Enterprise) initiatives • Under the Corporate Communications strategies, with the common goals and in close alignment with internal communications, this role will also help strengthen the MICHIBIKI initiatives for Janssen Japan's external branding Responsibilities / Principle Duties : Ensure effective external communications in Japan, helping establish Janssen's reputation as a leading innovative pharmaceutical company with a new corporate brand, an excellent partner of choice and a good employer of choice as well as protect the company's reputation from negative business impact. Leverage ties to Johnson & Johnson and raise corporate brand awareness of Janssen as a pharmaceutical company of Johnson & Johnson through proactive and strategic media and external engagements with relevant and influential stakeholders. Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Develop comprehensive corporate communications plans aligned with Janssen Japan business priorities; • Develop and manage all communication channels/platforms and media/other stakeholder activities for Jansen's reputation such as executive communications, thought leadership, Corporate branding, CSR, D&I, Our Credo etc.; • Proactively build and maintain relationships with key local media, be key point of contact for media enquiries and requests, and make pitches Janssen stories to key journalists for positive media coverage; • Develop compelling message and content for corporate stories; • Drive process harmonization to foster greater levels of efficiency in corporate communications; • Partner with key internal stakeholders to understand specific communication needs and to solve communication issues; • Collaborate with other sector communication teams (Medical Company, Vision Company and Consumer Company) to deliver our strategies and messages effectively as Johnson & Johnson; • Work closely with global and regional corporate communication teams and leverage global / regional capabilities; • Partner with local PR agencies, advertising agencies and other local vendors to maximize Janssen's work; • Project and budget management of external vendor supportQualifications - Competencies • Proactive enthusiastic self-starter with high energy and motivation as well as serious commitment to hard work and excellence; • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement and work independently; • Results-oriented, eager to win with strategic thinking and capable of tracking processes to ensure programs are delivered in line with expectations and desired results; • Able to think and analyze logically; • Handle highly confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion; • Able to juggle multiple priorities, take direction and be accountable for delivering in timely manner; • Value a spirit of teamwork; • Able to learn from failures or reflections; • Able to enjoy working in the complex environments with involvement of multiple stakeholders and multiple tasking. • Be good under pressure Qualifications and Experience: • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Communications and/or Journalism or Public Relations; • Minimum 7 years of experience in communications with focus on organizational/Corporate communications or related field is preferred; • Minimum 5 years of experience in the healthcare industry is preferred; • Demonstrated experience of strategic planning, project management, managing innovative communication channels, providing strategic executive counsel, communications execution and delivering programs across multiple offices and locations; • Experience working with global or regional teams and demonstrated understanding of global organization issues with the ability to navigate ambiguous situations; • Experience in developing digital communications strategies and execution is preferred (corporate website, intranet, SNS platforms etc.); • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and matrix environment; • Fluency in Japanese and excellent written and verbal command of English required; • Excellent in time/budget/people management; • Proficient in Microsoft Office
